Introduction

ATActions Semiconductor¨s ATM7021A is part of the company¨s OWL series of tablet system on a chip (SoC) solutions. It features an integrated Leopard generation I CPU core. It provides dual-core CPU performance and functionality with low power and low cost. The SoC also has an Imagination PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit (GPU). It also has an integrated independent video processing unit (VPU). These features and more combine to make the ATM7021A an ideal total system processing solution for advanced tablets. It delivers high performance use with low power and low cost for optimal video and audio playback and recording.

To best balance high performance and low power requirements, Actions Semiconductor leveraged the low power design (LPD) generation II and adaptive dynamic power (ADP) architectures. With these features built into the OWL Series, tablet designers can ensure customers enjoy longer battery life alongside high performance experiences. The design of the ATM7021A allows for high performance and low power with a low bill of material (BOM).
